2022 Honda CR-V spied during testing

The 2022 Honda CR-V has been snapped ahead of its expected unveiling later this year. It's the first indication we've seen of the sixth-generation CR-V, with Honda wrapping the SUV nose-to-tail in camouflaged vinyl to help conceal its new design. From what we can see, a more confident front-end will adorn the new model, with slimmer LED headlights and a cleaner, simpler grille than on the current model.

Tesla Model 3 outsold by one of the world's cheapest electric cars in China

The Tesla Model 3 has been outsold in China by a $5700 electric micro car, known as the Hongguang Mini EV. In January this year 25,778 examples of the Hongguang Mini EV were reported as sold in China, compared to 13,843 examples of the Tesla Model 3 in the same month. The compact, four-seat, three-door hatchback – which is a collaboration between Chinese manufacturer SAIC and US giant General Motors – weighs 665kg. For reference, that's about half the mass of a Toyota Corolla hatch.

Aston Martin to offer electric power in 90 per cent of its cars by 2030

Aston Martin will offer electrified powertrains in 90 per cent of its models by 2030, according to CEO Tobias Moers. “Electric drive is part of our journey and our product plan for the future,” Mr Moers told a group of investors late last week. “We should achieve something by the middle of the decade – that’s the ballpark. That’s the period of time and I think it’s crucial.”

Lexus extends its Lexus on Demand program to New Zealand

Lexus has announced it will offer the Lexus on Demand portion of its Encore Platinum program to Australian Lexus owners visiting New Zealand, in an effort to support the two-way travel bubble between the two countries. Via the Lexus app, the program will allow select Lexus owners to book and collect a loan car of their choosing from a variety of NZ airports, thereby skipping the typical rental car process.
