2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet revealed

Porsche has revealed the all-new 911 Cabriolet in Carrera S and Carrera 4S guises, ahead of its debut Down Under during the second quarter of 2019. The obvious difference between the coupe and Cabriolet is the folding fabric roof, which in the new-gen model can be opened and closed in "around twelve seconds" at speeds up to 50km/h.

Mercedes-Benz says it has changed its operating rhythm to operate more as a flexible software company rather than a traditional hardware company in order to better deal with the requirements of a digitally connected car going into the future. Hyundai Motor Company has revealed a next-generation head-up display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, equipped to a special Genesis G80. Developed with WayRay AG, a Swiss 'deep-tech' start-up company, the 'world-first' Holographic Augmented Reality Navigation System uses AR to project navigation prompts and other messages displayed on the road ahead in accordance with the driver's viewing range.

Mercedes ESF 2019 to showcase future of safety

Mercedes Benz says it plans to show a safety vision concept later this year that will demonstrate the future safety technologies from the German manufacturer. It will mark ten years since the last ESF vision concept debuted in 2009 and will see Mercedes-Benz showcase technologies that are both currently viable and also ones which may still be some time away.

Carlos Ghosn makes first court appearance since arrest

Carlos Ghosn, the former CEO of Nissan, has appeared in court for the first time after his arrest in Japan. Ghosn was arrested on November 19, 2018 after he was accused by Nissan of a number of misdemeanours during his time at the automaker. He has been formally charged for under reporting his income by over $100 million, shifting his currency trading losses to his employer, and misusing company funds.

Hyundai Elevate: Walking car concept revealed

The Hyundai Elevate concept has made its debut at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. In a disaster, such an earthquake or tsunami, first responders are only able to get to the edge of the debris field using conventional cars and trucks, with the rest of journey completed on foot. The Elevate concept, dubbed an "ultimate mobility vehicle", is designed to get past this limitation, and traverse ground even the most capable four-wheel drive would fail at.
